The winners of the prestigious East Midlands Property Awards were announced last week, and Essential Projects is delighted to announce that one of the projects we were contracted to work on has won an award.
Held at the De Vere East Midlands Conference Centre, on 12thSeptember 2019, the East Midlands Property Awards is an annual event to celebrate the key developments and deals in the sector over the past 12 months.
The development was recognised for ticking a number of sustainability boxes in a small building in a very sensitive location.
The new visitor centre has been designed to fit seamlessly into the existing surroundings at Sherwood Forest and replace the original building built in the 1970’s.
The development now comprises a welcome area, a shop and a café and also includes a terrace for the café and an amphitheatre outdoor area.
Essential Projects was appointed by Woodhead Construction to manufacture and install the bespoke feature staircase within the new visitor centre, which opened to the public in Summer 2018.
The feature staircase was manufactured out of powder coated mild steel with a glass balustrade and stainless steel handrails. Solid oak treads were installed as part of the finished glass staircase so that the finished look remained in keeping with the woodlands environment.
Commenting on the project, Essential Projects, Managing Director, Eliot Saxton said “We are proud of the work we supply to our clients and although we only played a small part on this development, it’s always great to receive recognition for a project you’ve worked on.”
