Notts-based bespoke metalwork and glass manufacturing company Essential Projects has appointed Kieran Hickman as a design engineer.
The appointment follows several new contract wins for leading retailers such as Next, Waitrose and Oakfurnitureland.
In his new role, Hickman be responsible for the design of technical drawings for quotations to ensure they accurately reflect the work involved. He will also produce CAD drawings for fabricators so that all component parts specified on the project are manufactured to the highest quality. He will also play a key role in the procurement process to ensure components are sourced in a timely manner.
Hickman has over ten years design expertise and previously worked for Metreel as a mechanical design engineer. Prior to that, he worked at ACA Engineering Consultants where he started as an apprentice.
He said: “My previous work had become quite repetitive and I was looking for a more interesting role where my engineering and design skills would be fully utilised. Essential Projects has completed work for some really high profile clients and I am really looking forward to the challenge ahead”.
