Essential Projects has completed the installation of a bespoke feature glass staircase at a luxury detached property in Oxton.
Located just off the B6386 Southwell Road the six bedroom property has recently undergone renovation works which have involved building an extension to the side of the property. The extension has doubled the property in size and now features additional reception space as well as a downstairs leisure facility with a luxury swimming pool.
In order to provide access to the first floor living areas and the master bedroom, the property owner contacted Essential Projects to design and manufacture a contemporary feature glass staircase that would be installed in the new atrium.
After visiting the site to conduct a thorough survey and take precise measurements, Essential Projects provided 3D visual designs which demonstrated the various styles of staircase that would work best. These options included a straight, faceted or a 90° angled staircase.
It was agreed that a 90° angled glass staircase would retain the contemporary aesthetics desired and it was decided that the feature staircase would be manufactured out of a combination of wood, steel and glass.
The bespoke staircase installed features 21.5mm thick glass balustrade affixed to the mezzanine edge and incorporates 14 solid oak treads. To finish the staircase, satin polished stainless steel handrails were added to provide a clean modern look in keeping with other furniture.
Commenting on his new feature staircase, the property owner said “After being recommended Essential Projects by a friend, I was very pleased with their professionalism and attention to detail. The initial design visuals provided were very accurate, reasonably priced and immediately met my expectations.”
Eliot Saxton, Managing Director of Essential Projects added “This was a very exciting residential project to work on and I’m that pleased that our hard work resulted in a stunning bespoke feature staircase. This project demonstrated our ability to work efficiently with others on site with the installation process taking just under two weeks to complete.”
