Bespoke shopping trolley corrals manufactured by Essential Projects have been installed on behalf of a leading Nottinghamshire based retailer at one of their newly opened stores in the Mostyn Champneys Shopping Centre.
The shopping venue, located in Llandudno, Wales is a popular shopping centre and home to many other leading high street retailers and eateries.
The retail park was built nearly 30 years ago, and owners Hercules Unit Trust (HUT) wanted to upgrade the site to modernise the park to ensure that shoppers kept coming back in the face of growing competition from online and rival shopping venues. The investment made in the shopping park has attracted brands such as McDonalds, Currys, Argos, Primark, Oakfurnitureland and our client, a leading Nottinghamshire retailer.
Our client has signed a lease for a new 8300 square foot shop, and in order for the lease to be signed, planning changes were needed to increase the choice of goods that could be sold in the unit which was previously a Carpetright store. These changes were approved by Conwy Council and the new store will create 60 new jobs for both locals and existing team members from nearby stores as the brand looks to restructure its network of shops.
As part of the stores opening in October 2017, Essential Projects was contracted to install shopping trolley corrals at strategic locations within the car park.
In keeping with other shopping trolley corrals on site, it was agreed that Essential Projects would manufacture and install a 5-metre-wide and 3-metre-high external grade stainless steel trolley corral. The metalwork provided for the job, was supplied satin polished to help combat and prevent rust occurring.
A spokesman commenting on behalf of the leading UK retailor said “Based on the age of the shopping parks, there was a real emphasis on improving its overall appearance and attraction. We are confident that locals will be impressed by our new store, made better by the addition of new shopping trolley corrals which we hope will help improve the associated shopping experience for our customers.”
