Essential Projects is pleased to announce that we have been successful in completing SSiP criteria and have successfully achieved Safety Management Advisory Services (SMAS) Worksafe Accreditation.
SMAS is a member of Safety Schemes in Procurement, (SSIP). They are a H&S Assessment organisation that assess health and safety management systems to ensure H&S has been considered throughout each phase of the construction process.
Working with many of the major UK construction companies, SMAS has vast experience and expertise in new build construction and takes great pride in its professionalism, customer service and efficiency.
During their procurement process, looking for sub-contractors with SMAS Worksafe Accreditation helps main contractors to establish whether the companies they will be working alongside on their project will follow safe working practices and consider workplace risks. Each subcontractor represents the main contractor whilst working on site, so it is imperative that they also uphold the high levels of compliance held by the main contractor. In selecting a SMAS Worksafe accredited company, the main contractor can be assured that the subcontractor has been successfully assessed by qualified H&S professionals.
Commenting on the award, Essential Projects, Managing Director, Eliot Saxton said “We have worked extremely hard as a company to gain this accreditation. Holding a valid SMAS worksafe certificate demonstrates to main contractors that we have been independently assessed by H&S professionals and comply with SSiP Core Criteria safety standards. This should help us promote our services more widely and help us win more work from main contractors on a nationwide basis.”
