Essential Projects has recently completed the installation of a steel staircase at a new commercial office estate in the West Midlands.
Built by London & Cambridge properties, Prime Point is a 130,000 sq ft development featuring four industrial warehouse units and is situated on the flagship Pensnett Estate, in Kingswinford.
The commercial office estate is one of the largest secure industrial estates in Europe, comprising of 185 acres and is home to almost 200 companies including businesses such as Greggs, Dudley NHS and Sven Christiansen.
Funding for the project was provided by London and Cambridge Properties, with support also being provided by The Black Country Local Enterprise Partnership (BCLEP).
Essential Projects was appointed by A Surman & Co to design, manufacture and install a bespoke steel staircase within one of the new office units.
The 180°staircase was manufactured using mild steel and was designed to incorporate 17 tread risers. The steel staircase was finished with a red oxide primer to provide a robust and hard wearing finish, and prepared for finished paintwork to match interior décor.
To ensure that the steel staircase met the required health and safety standards, Essential Projects also manufactured and installed 4 metres of satin polished stainless steel handrail supported on an adjacent wall by wall mounted brackets.
12 meters of satin polished balustrade was also added to the second floor walkway area to prevent employees from falling from height.
